Pięć kobiet zginęło w sobotę rano w strzelaninie w sklepie z ubraniami w Tinley Park na przedmieściach Chicago. - Kobiety znaleziono na zapleczu sklepu - powiedział dziennikarzom sierżant T.J. Grady z miejscowej policji. - Motywem był prawdopodobnie niezbyt udany rabunek. Sprawca uciekł i jest poszukiwany na podstawie rysopisu podanego przez świadka, który widział go przed sklepem.

The Tinley Park gunman has been described by police as
African-American, 25 to 35 years old, with thick cornrows and a slim
braid decorated with green beads along the right side of his face,
5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, and 200 to 230 pounds with broad shoulders
and a husky build.
On Feb. 2, a gunman walked into the store on the pretext of making a
delivery and began chatting with four women inside. He then announced
a holdup and forced them into a back area. Two other victims entered
the store and also were taken to the back, a source said.
Five of the women were slain. One survived and assisted police in
creating a sketch of the suspect that was widely distributed and
displayed on digital billboards across the metropolitan area.
Before they were shot, the women were bound with duct tape. The gunmanthen placed them facedown on the floor and covered their heads with clothing. Police said he fondled one of the victims.

Store manager Rhoda McFarland was able to dial 911 on her cell phone.
The call was first received by the Will County sheriff's department
and immediately transferred to Tinley Park, which took the call at
10:44 a.m. The gunman noticed McFarland had made a phone call and
opened fire, a source said.

A police officer on a call outside a Super Target across the mall
parking lot from Lane Bryant was on the scene within a minute, but the
gunman already had fled, said Mayor Ed Zabrocki. Inside, police found
the bodies of McFarland, Connie Woolfolk, Sarah Szafranski, Jennifer
Bishop and Carrie Hudek Chiuso. Investigators recovered .40-caliber
shell casings from the store.

Dozens of investigators from Tinley Park and the major crimes task
force sifted through hundreds of tips that had been called into the
department's hot line at 708-444-5394.

After a week of interviews, authorities were able to compose a sketch
of the gunman based on the surviving woman's recollection. The
likeness was put on seven electronic billboards throughout the area,
with an eighth coming, donated by Clear Channel Outdoor Chicago.
