London's Wood Green Crown Court heard how martial arts expert Daniel Lynch, 33, had beaten up and raped the woman in a hotel room last year, just weeks after meeting her on Facebook.
Several days after the attack he organised for another man, Stefan Sylvestre, 20, to throw acid in her face as she walked down a north London high street.
Lynch was today sentenced to life imprisonment, at London's Wood Green Crown Court.
Stefan Sylvestre, 20, who threw the acid, was also given a life sentence.

A man and two teenagers have been found guilty of murdering 16-year-old Ben Kinsella who was stabbed 11 times after a row in a north London bar.

Ben, the brother of EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella, was running away from the fight in Islington when he was attacked on 29 June last year.

Michael Alleyne, 18, Juress Kika, 19 and Jade Braithwaite, 20, all from London, had denied murder.

Ben's family said walking away from trouble had "cost him his life".

The court had been told Ben was out with his friends to celebrate the end of their GCSE exams.

Illegal immigrant raped teenage girl in alleyway

An Afghan man who came to this country illegally, attacked and raped a Kenilworth teenager in an alleyway just hours after arriving in the town.
Rapist Jawid Armani was caught soon after the attack on the 16-year-old girl as she was walking home at 1.30am in the morning on March 14.

And a judge at Warwick Crown Court heard that the 32-year-old Afghan is wanted for questioning by Thames ValADVERTISEMENTley police over a similar attack on a girl in that force's area.

Prosecutor Iain Willis said the attack took place in a dark alleyway in Kenilworth as the girl was walking home at 1.30am after a night out with friends.

She was attacked from behind by Armani who forced her to perform an act of oral sex on him, which is also classed as rape, before he proceeded to rape her.

Afterwards the girl fled from the alleyway and raised the alarm with someone who lived nearby.

The traumatised girl described her attacker and Armani was found and arrested a short time later.

Armani said he had travelled to the UK in a lorry and had only been in the country for 48 hours when he got out in Kenilworth.

He claimed he could not remember what had happened because he was very drunk at the time.

And Mr Willis revealed: "The defendant is suspected of having committed similar offences in the Thames Valley area, and is to be arrested on those matters."
He suggested that sentencing of Armani should be adjourned for two months to allow the Thames Valley matters to be investigated.

Armani's barrister Lawrence Watts, who asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared on him, agreed.

Judge Christopher Hodson adjourned the case until May for the report and for the Thames Valley investigation to be completed, and remanded Armani in custody.

A father was arrested yesterday on suspicion of stabbing to death his three-year-old son. Paul Otieno, 31, was being held in a hospital in London after the attack on the boy, Wilson.

Police officers and medical staff were called to Mr Otieno’s flat in Southwark, southeast London, on Monday evening and found that the child had suffered several stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His mother Jackeline, 28, had suffered a knife wound to her neck and ear and Mr Otieno was bleeding severely — mainly from wounds to his neck, stomach and feet that were thought to have been self-inflicted.

A 17-month-old girl was found unharmed in her cot.

Neighbours on the Lynton estate said that Mr Otenio was brought out of the flat on a stretcher and that paramedics had to resuscitate him twice. He is under police guard in hospital and it is understood that he will be questioned this week. His wife has been discharged and is being comforted by friends.

Neighbours said that they saw the mother screaming for her children in the aftermath of the attack. The family, believed to be from West Africa, were regular church attenders.

It is understood that social services have told detectives that the family were not known to them and that local police officers said they had not been called to the address previously.

Kelly Turner, 34, a mother of two young girls who lives on the floor above the family, said that she heard cries from the mother. “I heard her screaming downstairs in the car park. She was in shock,” she said.

“She had a wound to her neck and she was losing quite a bit of blood,” Ms Turner added. “She was saying, ‘My kids, my kids’. That is when the police came in and knocked down the door.”

Ms Turner said that there had been no past disturbances or noise from the family. “The last time I saw them was on Sunday. They used to go to church on Sundays — they would come out all smartly dressed,” she said. “There were never any disturbances before and they were always quiet. When they saw you they would smile and they would say hello.”

She said of the three-year-old boy: “He was just a sweet, normal little boy. He was very happy and smiley.”

It is understood that the family had been living at the estate for only a few months.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said that a 31-year-old man had been arrested and remained under guard in hospital. He was in a serious condition and police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. Officers from the child abuse investigation command were waiting to question Mr Otieno.

Simon Hughes, the Liberal Democrat MP for North Southwark & Bermondsey, who lives a short distance away, said: “The news today of a little boy’s violent death in Bermondsey is almost too horrific to imagine.

“There will be huge shock and horror throughout the community, especially from those of us who live nearby. The thoughts and prayers of the country will be with the little girl also found in the flat, and all the family.

“Our thoughts are also very much with the police, NHS staff and other public servants who are dealing with this terrible tragedy.”

James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, had been staying with one of the men's extended family in Longboat Key, a well-heeled island town known for its white sand beaches overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Their bodies were found 12 miles away from there at 3am on Saturday, lying in the road in the Newtown district of North Sarasota, which is noted for its gang violence, high unemployment and social housing.
Sarasota police said no motive for the murders had yet been established and the 16-year-old had no known link to the victims.
